What We Believe

We believe that individuals should have the right to govern themselves.

We believe that the primary role of government is to protect individual rights from those who would infringe upon them by use of force or fraud.

We believe private charities, community involvement and personal responsibility are more effective than government programs.

While we support the legalization of drugs, that is not our primary issue.  We believe as a matter of principle that people own their own bodies and that prohibition always does more harm than good.

Much of Libertarian thought and principle can be summed up in what is called the Non-Aggression Principle or NAP which states that Libertarians oppose the initiation of force to achieve political or social goals.
